Last year, the McMurtry Spéirling stunned the automotive world by demolishing the Goodwood Hill Climb record with a jaw-dropping 39.08-second run. Now, the British engineering upstart is bringing that mind-bending speed to a very fortunate few. Meet the McMurtry Spéirling Pure—a limited-run, track-only hypercar that blends cutting-edge electric performance with aerodynamic wizardry in a package unlike anything else on the road... or rather, the track.
McMurtry plans to build just 100 units of the Spéirling Pure, officially debuting the customer version at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed. It’s a reimagined evolution of the record-breaking prototype, now production-ready and somehow even more extreme.

A Pure Driving Weapon
At its core, the Spéirling Pure is an unapologetically focused track machine. Power comes from two electric motors—one per rear wheel—delivering a combined 999 horsepower. Thanks to its featherweight build (under 2,205 lbs), that’s a near-unreal power-to-weight ratio.
Despite adding 10 inches to the original prototype’s length, the Pure remains incredibly compact at just 135.8 inches long—still shorter than a Chevy Spark—and a mere 40.2 inches tall. Yet McMurtry has cleverly engineered the cockpit to accommodate drivers up to 6'7" and 330 lbs, proving that comfort doesn’t have to be sacrificed for performance.
Top speed is an estimated 190 mph, but that’s not the headline. The Spéirling Pure is all about grip—thanks in large part to its radical fan-powered downforce system. Yes, you read that right. Two electric turbines generate thousands of pounds of suction to glue the car to the tarmac—enough to pull an eye-watering 3 g’s in cornering at relatively low speeds. It's like having race-level aero without needing insane velocity.

Built to Go the Distance
Unlike many ultra-light electric prototypes, the Spéirling Pure is designed to deliver sustained performance over multiple hot laps on full-sized circuits. A 60.0-kWh battery is integrated into the carbon-fiber monocoque and can be recharged in as little as 20 minutes, depending on the setup. No word yet on exact charging specs, but the goal is clear: back-to-back sessions with minimal downtime.

Exclusivity at Its Finest
With only 100 examples planned and pricing well above the $1 million mark, the Spéirling Pure is destined to become one of the most exclusive EVs on the planet. Deliveries begin in 2025, and owners will get access to the elite GT1 Sports Club—a series of private track events held alongside SRO GT World Challenge weekends across the globe. This isn’t just a car—it’s a membership to one of the most rarefied clubs in motorsports.
At Freedom Supercars, we celebrate innovation, performance, and the pursuit of driving perfection, and the McMurtry Spéirling Pure represents all of that in its most radical form.
