We packed the house for another great Champions Club at the clubhouse. The energy was felt from the moment members walked in. By the end of the night, it was clear this one would be talked about for a while.
A New Addition to the Houston Car Collection
We started the evening with a reveal. Freedom Supercars welcomed its newest member to the Houston car collection: the Lamborghini Urus S.
This is not your typical SUV. The Urus S sits at the intersection of supercar DNA and everyday usability, and it makes no apologies for either. Powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 producing 666 horsepower and 627 lb-ft of torque, it hits 60 mph in 3.5 seconds and tops out at 190 mph. It is, without question, the world's most capable SUV.
Ours arrived dressed to intimidate. The exterior wears a menacing dark grey and black combination that commands attention without demanding it. Step inside and the mood shifts. Black cabin materials are punctuated by lime green accents that pay direct homage to Lamborghini's most iconic color. The contrast is sharp, aggressive, and exactly right. This car is here to turn heads and back it up.
Member Spotlight:
Our member spotlight this month featured Doug Aguilar, who took the floor alongside his partner Jason to speak on behalf of Black Guard Capital.
Doug shared insight into the company's current projects and pulled back the curtain on what has separated Black Guard from the competition. The conversation centered around forward momentum, the strategic use of AI, and the mindset required to stay ahead in a fast-moving landscape.
Doug and Jason gave members practical takeaways they could put to use immediately. It was the kind of transparency and generosity that makes Champions Club what it is.
The Main Stage: Doug Dawson
If there was a defining moment of the evening, it belonged to Doug Dawson.
Doug is one of our own. As a Freedom Supercars member, he has been part of this community for a while now. But most in the room may not have fully known the story he was carrying. Doug stepped up and shared his journey in the NFL, including his time with the Houston Oilers. He spoke with the kind of honesty that only comes from someone who has lived it at the highest level.
He left the room with several things to think about. But one idea cut through more than the rest: tenacity.
Doug made it simple. You do not have to be the smartest person in the room. You do not need a perfect path or a guaranteed outcome. What you need is the willingness to force yourself into situations with what he called delusional optimism. The belief that things will work out, even when nothing around you suggests they will. That mindset, paired with real grit, is what separates people who break through from people who don't.
He also gave the room something equally valuable: permission to acknowledge the hard parts. Bad things are going to happen. That is not a question. But Doug's perspective was clear. Everything works itself out. When you carry that belief into every challenge, it keeps you grounded. It keeps you moving. It keeps you on the straight and narrow when everything else is pulling you sideways.
A Night Worth Remembering
The rest of the evening belonged to the members. Drinks flowed, conversations ran long, and new connections were made all across the room. Moments like these are exactly why Champions Club exists.
We are already looking forward to what comes next. If this month set the bar, the next event has a lot to live up to. We think we are up to the challenge.
