Champions Club Meeting: September 2026

The first cool evening of the season showed up right on schedule, and so did our members.

Champions Club has always been about two things. The cars that bring everyone through the door, and the conversations that happen once they are inside. This month delivered on both.

The display was one of the strongest we have put together this year. Members spent the first part of the evening doing what members do, walking the line, opening doors, comparing notes on which one they are taking out next weekend. There is something about the end of Houston summer that makes everyone suddenly very interested in their reservation calendar.

The centerpiece was our newest addition, the Bentley Continental GT Edition 8. It is a car with a story attached. Bentley built the Edition 8 as a farewell to the pure gasoline V8 Continental before the model moves to a hybrid, which makes this one the last of its kind. The 4.0 liter twin-turbo V8 sends 542 horsepower through a chassis that feels less like a sports car and more like a private jet with a steering wheel. The spec is loaded with Mulliner touches, Palm Fluting on the seats, and Edition 8 badging on the fender for anyone paying attention. It drew a crowd all night, and more than a few members asked how soon they could get it booked.

Member Spotlight

The spotlight this month went to Stephen, who has spent his career working with families who have built significant wealth and now face a different question than the one they started with.

That shift was the heart of his talk. Stephen described how the families he works with rarely worry about whether they will have enough for their own lifetime. They have solved that. What keeps them up is something harder to measure. Will the wealth they built have a positive effect on the people who inherit it?

It is a question most people in the room recognized immediately, because it is not really about money. It is about what success does to the generation that did not have to earn it. Stephen walked through how he approaches it with clients, and the answer is rarely a document. It is a process. Teaching the next generation to be stewards rather than recipients. Giving them real responsibility before they inherit real assets. Building a shared sense of purpose around the money so that it has a direction instead of just a balance.

He shared an example of a family navigating exactly that. After the founder passed away, the family set out to give away a foundation's assets thoughtfully over fifteen years, while bringing the next generation along as active participants rather than spectators. The planning matters, but the education is what determines whether it works.

Stephen also made a point that landed with a lot of members. Creating generational wealth is difficult. Preserving it is harder. And handing it to your children well is harder still, because it asks you to think about character before you think about strategy.

Afterward

The best sign of a good spotlight is what happens when it ends, and this one kept people standing in small groups for a long while afterward, still turning the ideas over with each other. Cars got a second look on the way out. Nobody was in a hurry.

That is Champions Club at its best. Great cars on display, people worth knowing in the room, and a conversation you take home with you.

We hope to see you at the next one.

About Pit Lane

In F1 races, no racer could make it to the end of the race without heading down pit lane. This is a crucial part of the race where the drivers take a fraction of the race to ensure they have the right tires, are full of fuel, and all the active aero on the car is working at 100%.

Inspired by this essential racing strategy, we have created “Pit Lane” for our members. These gatherings are designed to foster deeper connections as we listen to guest speakers, have insightful discussions and enjoy community building opportunities.

For those considering membership, there's never been a better time to join our dynamic and welcoming community. We invite you to become part of the Freedom Supercars family, where every day offers somethingnew and exciting. If you're a car enthusiast who loves the thrill of driving high-end cars, there's no better way to do it than with a supercar subscription. It's cost-effective, offers variety, no depreciation, and hassle-free ownership. Plus we have tons of events like this one, that bring our members together to form a tight community of like minded individuals.
