Monterey Car Week 2026
Every August, the car world stops what it is doing and turns toward a small stretch of California coastline. Monterey Car Week is where the rarest machines on earth gather, and lately it has become the place where the newest ones break cover too.
This year did not disappoint. On one Friday alone, The Quail hosted more world premieres than most auto shows manage in a full week. Here are the reveals that had us talking.
A Texas Hypercar Goes Old School
Hennessey Blackbird. Our friends down the road in Sealy stole plenty of attention with their third hypercar. The Blackbird trades turbos and paddles for a naturally aspirated 6.2-liter V8 and a gated six-speed manual. Only 71 will ever be built. In an age of screens and automation, it is a pure, analog machine, and it is built right here in Texas.
Lamborghini Doubles Down
Revuelto SV. Lamborghini brought a sharper, more focused version of its V12 flagship, and this one you can actually order through the dealer network.
Revuelto Miura 60° Homage. To mark sixty years of the Miura, Lamborghini built just 99 examples in heritage colors, wrapping its 1,001-horsepower hybrid V12 in a tribute to the car that started it all.
The One-Offs That Broke the Internet
Bugatti Destrier. A single commission through Bugatti's Solitaire program, packing the 8.0-liter quad-turbo W16 and a staggering 1,578 horsepower. One car. One very lucky owner.
Ferrari CZ26. Ferrari's Special Projects team reimagined the SF90 Stradale into a futuristic one-off. Again, just one built.
Grand Tourers and Front-Engined V12s
Aston Martin Valen. A limited-production, front-engined V12 supercar from Q by Aston Martin, capped at 150 cars, with deliveries beginning in 2027.
Bentley Continental Supersports. Bentley rolled out the most powerful Continental yet in a dramatic Dragon livery, proof that grand touring still has real teeth.
For the Purists
Porsche 911 Carrera S, Manual. Porsche answered enthusiast demand and brought back a six-speed manual for the Carrera S in North America. Sometimes three pedals is the whole point.
Eccentrica V12 Roadster. An open-top restomod of the Lamborghini Diablo, with a naturally aspirated V12 and a manual gearbox, limited to just 19 cars.
The theme this year was hard to miss. Even as the industry races toward electric power and endless screens, the cars that stole Monterey were the ones that put the driver back at the center. That happens to be a philosophy we know something about.
