The Ferrari Testarossa is one of the most legendary names in Ferrari history. First introduced in 1984 as the successor to the Berlinetta Boxer, it drew inspiration from the 1950s Testa Rossa race car. The original Testarossa quickly became an icon, with production running for more than a decade. It set a standard for design, performance, and style that still resonates today.

Now, Ferrari is bringing the Testarossa name back with the all-new 849 Testarossa. Positioned as the successor to the SF90, this hybrid hypercar combines a high-performance V-8 engine with three electric motors, generating a total of 1,036 horsepower. It reaches 62 miles per hour in just 2.3 seconds and tops out at 205 mph. The updated V-8 engine alone produces 818 horsepower, while the electric motors contribute an additional 216 hp, providing standard all-wheel drive and advanced torque vectoring. The car can also run up to 16 miles on battery power alone at speeds up to 81 mph.

The 849 Testarossa is designed for both road and track. Its active rear spoiler and integrated twin tail spoilers create up to 915 pounds of downforce at 155 mph. The Assetto Fiorano track package adds even more aggressive aerodynamics and reduces weight by 66 pounds, enhancing performance further.
While it does not closely resemble the original Testarossa, the 849 pays tribute to its legacy. Subtle design elements, such as a black trim connecting the headlights and a front bumper shape inspired by the original, nod to Ferrari’s past while embracing a modern aesthetic. Both coupe and convertible versions are available, with the Spider featuring a retractable hardtop that operates in 14 seconds at speeds up to 28 mph.

Inside, the cockpit focuses on the driver with a racing-inspired layout, traditional steering wheel buttons, and a modern digital instrument cluster with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and wireless smartphone charging.
Pricing in the US has not been officially announced, but expect it to start above the SF90, which began around $550,000. Production is scheduled for next year, and pre-orders are open now.
