At a time when nearly every automaker is sprinting toward an electric future, Lamborghini is taking a much different and far more emotional route. While the industry buzzes about range, charging times, and battery innovation, Lamborghini is focusing on something far more visceral: the raw, unfiltered thrill of a combustion engine.

Yes, they’ve teased an electric concept, and yes, hybrid powertrains are part of the current lineup. But make no mistake, Lamborghini is not in a rush to go fully electric. Their first all-electric model, the Lanzador, isn’t expected to hit roads until 2029. That delay doesn’t feel like a misstep. It feels intentional. They’re not giving up the engine roar without a fight.

And we get it.

At Freedom Supercars, we love all cars. Electric, hybrid, V8, V10, V12 - we admire the craftsmanship and innovation behind them all. But if you ask us to choose, our vote stays with fire, fury, and fuel. There’s just something about stepping into a true supercar, hearing it come alive, and feeling the vibrations pulse through your chest. It’s an experience electric motors simply can’t replicate.

Lamborghini’s Chief Technical Officer, Rouven Mohr, recently summed it up perfectly. He explained that the decision to keep combustion engines for as long as possible is based on emotion. That emotion is what makes a Lamborghini more than just a machine. It’s what turns driving into a full-body experience. And for true car enthusiasts, that’s what we crave. Not silence, but soul.

To meet today’s emissions standards, Lamborghini has had to evolve. The new Temerario trades the naturally aspirated V-10 for a hybrid twin-turbo V8. The Revuelto keeps the legendary V-12 while integrating electric motors. Even the Urus has transitioned to a hybrid system. These changes are technical compromises, but they aren’t philosophical ones. Lamborghini is adapting without abandoning what makes it iconic.

Ferrari is pushing forward with its first electric vehicle debuting later this year. Lamborghini is choosing patience. They don’t want to launch just any EV. They want one that’s worthy of the Raging Bull badge. Until that happens, it’s business as usual with gas in the tank and heart in the game.

At Freedom Supercars, that mindset resonates deeply. Our members don’t just drive cars. They live them. They chase the roar of horsepower, the scent of burning rubber, and the adrenaline that only comes from a combustion-powered machine. The future may be electric, but for now, it still smells like gasoline. And we’re all in.
